Dee C'rell [pronounced Dee Ce-Rell] was born in Hackney and grew up in Shoreditch, Central London. He is a leading expert on Contemporary Electro - Acoustic Jazz and the pioneer of the terminology. He is known as a Music Composer, Pianist, and Keyboard player, Electroacoustic Composer, Installation Artist, Remixer, Photographer, DJ and Writer. He composes and releases music worldwide in a variety of genres which include; Contemporary Electro - Acoustic Jazz, House, Techno, Drum 'N' Bass and Contemporary and Avant Garde music.

He studied music at City University with Professor Steve Stanton in Ethnomusicology. Professor Alexander Lingus in the History of Western Music. Professor Denis Smalley in Western Music and Electroacoustic music. Dr Melania Bucciarelli in the music of the Baroque. Dr Miguel Mera in Film and composition. Andy Channing in Balinese, and Indonesian Gamelan. Aki Pasoulas and Ambrose Seddon in Electroacoustic music. Dr Newton Armstrong in Contemporary music. He has also studied Jazz and Contemporary music making practices with Christopher Wilson.

PAST
He has been associated with American House music since its principal years and was once voted one of the three most influential keyboard/producers working in American house music along side, Jimi Polo and Tommy Barbarella. He re-wrote and performed on the classic club track, "So In Love With You" which featured Gerideau and Shawn Benson. It is regarded as one of the first tracks to feature two male singers in a duet in House music. It was first performed along side DJ Tony Humphries at the Ministry of Sound. He has since remixed, composed and musically directed for many artists and DJ's worldwide within dance music.

In Techno music he has collaborated with Ian Tregoning (known also for his work with Yello and Underworld). As Stranger and C-rell, they signed to Freetown and subwoofer and released the classic remix of Jocelyn Brown's, "I like it like that". Released under the song title Drum Whispers and using minimal vocals, the track is regarded as one of the first and finest tribal Electro/Techno club tracks of its time.

He has composed in Break Beat and Drum 'N' Bass since its primary years and recorded with Subject 13 on the record label Underground Level Recording. Releasing Techno City and The Unique Beatz E.P Vol.1, these releases became influential in the English Break Beat music scene and inadvertently lead to the progression of what has now become known worldwide as Drum 'N' Bass.

PRESENT
In Contemporary Electro - Acoustic jazz, he owns the record label Holm Records. He first released Modal Times on Holm Records featuring respected jazz musicians, Audun Waage and Torsten De Winkel to critical acclaim.
